Dr Hui Gong
Dr Hui Gong is Lecturer in Decentralised Finance and Blockchain at the UCL Institute of Finance & Technology and Programme Director of the MSc Banking and Digital Finance.
Research perspective
His research focuses on quantum computing and quantum-inspired methods for finance, blockchain and digital financial infrastructure, and quantitative modelling and algorithmic trading. His work on agentic finance connects these areas through questions of autonomy, programmable payments, verification and accountability.
Academic background
He holds a PhD in Financial Mathematics from UCL. His earlier experience includes quantitative research at Credit Suisse, research at UCL’s Centre for Blockchain Technologies and teaching at Westminster Business School.
Books and public engagement
He is the author of The Web3 Revolution (Apress, 2024) and Intelligent Quant (Peking University Press, 2024). His work connects academic research with practical questions in financial technology.
